The cannabis industry is growing year-over-year
At a national-level, the industry grew 42% in September compared to last year as measured by GMV, or Gross Merchandise Value). GMV measures the value of merchandise that is bought and sold on LeafLink, and it’s a strong measure of the overall health of the industry given that LeafLink manages 39% of all US wholesale cannabis commerce.
Arizona and Nevada continue their recent surge
Brands in Nevada and Arizona have been growing at a wild pace this year, and this month has been no exception. While September growth pales when compared to say, Nevada in April (288%!), Nevada at 15% and Arizona at 28% after so many continued months of growth is impressive to say the least. Growth rates in this section represent YoY growth of brands on the platform since January 2020.
Cartridges are getting more popular with wholesale buyers
While Flower remains the king when it comes to market share on LeafLink, Cartridges are quietly making a move closer to the top. Market share for Cartridges grew 1.4 percentage points to 23.8%, placing the category firmly in second place.
Some of the top cartridges in September:
– Terrapin Double Bear Honey Cart (PA)
– Timeless Vapes Gummy Worms (AZ)
– Raw Garden Pink Lemonade Sativa (CA)
– Butterfly Effect Black Jack Pod (OH)
